Holemire House Barn is on the Cockermouth side of the Whinlatter Pass (B5292).
From Keswick: Turn left on to the Whinlatter Pass (B5292) at Braithwaite to Lorton. Holemire House is on your right opposite the turning to Buttermere. Note that sometimes in bad weather the Whinlatter Pass should be avoided, in this case continue on to Cockermouth on the A66, take the turning left at Embelton sign posted to Lorton and Buttermere.
From Cockermouth: Once in Cockermouth turn right on Main Street up Station Street (sign posted to Lorton and Buttermere) and take the left at the traffic lights on to Lorton Street, continue on to Lorton on the B5292 and take the left turning sign posted to Keswick. Holemire House is on your left opposite the turning to Buttermere. |
